Well no not exactly. During Nam the Pentagon set up this highly classified Special Operations outfit Military Assistance Command, Vietnam – Studies and Observations Group (MACV-SOG.) Along with the USSR the Red Chinese (People Liberation Army) provided support to the NVA and sent some 170,000 troops to Vietnam. I am going to have some of the story tie-ins where Frank is on a mission (his second tour running Scout-Sniper possibly) he runs into to some Chinese regulars. He might even kill a commander or somebody who has ties to the Chinese politburo. 30 years later they come over to the US. Frank takes on Chinese organized crime.
A couple years ago there was a official from NORINCO who tried to sell weapons (SAMs and Assault Rifles) to Oakland Street gangs. NORINCO is a state owned company in China that makes most heavy and light weapons for the PLA.
I think that's awesome. This is one of the reasons I am against retconning Punisher. He is the polar opposite of Captain America in the sense that cap was an icon of a war that gave America it's respect, yet the Vietnam war was the war that America lost it's innocence. I did a similar story involved with Punisher doing black ops to rescue Tony Stark. The two actually met and Tony offered to build him a suit for his unit because of his concerns of Valley Forge.
