Punisher Movie Rights news -- now under Marvel Studios

Okay here is my two cents or possibly more. Take from it what you will.

-Nick Fury after the credits in Iron Man
-Tony Stark and Gen. Ross at the end of Incredible Hulk
-Nick Fury, War Machine, Black Widow, numerous easter eggs about the Avengers in Iron Man 2
-Thor's hammer at the end of Iron Man 2

All of those have the Avengers in common. What plot would there be to insert the Punisher into any of these storylines? All of these cameos have been leading to something and that is the Avenger movie. I do not thin Marvel is going to just randomly start inserting other characters into their main stream movies to plug other movies.

As far as the deadpool thing. I believe before the movie Ryan Reynolds was already being dubbed as the perfect choice and if I remember correctly they had already planned the Deadpool solo movie before Wolverine Origins was even out. Also it's Fox not Sony who has the rights to everything XMEN. ;-)

I hope to see another Punisher movie. As Kevin said I really enjoyed Warzone and if Marvel things they can top that then I am all for it.

I don't doubt that at all..... the randomly throw in a Frank Castle reference now, makes no sense - because as you said, everything they are doing is building up to the Avengers.... but a reference to Castle in another one of the Marvel films not associated with The Avengers is a possibility at some point in the future, or even a reference in the actual Avengers film - or one of the films... its at the very least feasible..... we'll see what happens - but as i sit here now, I still don't think we'll see any movement on a Punisher film until after the Avengers (at least their first film)

i'm just happy that Lionsgate no longer has their filthy hands all over that property - it's right back where it belongs.... and to know that Marvel does plan another Punisher film - at some point, whenever that will be, is all i need to know.

Glad to hear the zigwads at lionsgate lost the property....Cant say I am excited about any future films...I enjoy aspects of all 3..Warzone being the best...I feel like I have been put through the ringer with punisher films...I enjoy them, but I think I will hold off any excitement until news breaks

Hahaha... I can see why a person would have said that almost two years ago, but let's face it, nobody's checking up on us and nothing hangs in the balance. If ever I was going to turn around and call War Zone a steaming pile of zig, it would be now... but it's not a steaming pile of zig, it's way high on my list of favorite movies and I enjoy it every time I watch it. Sometimes you just luck out and that's what happened, at least for me.

I'm quite surprised by this, and am hopeful.  I just hope they know what they're doing this time around.  I'm hoping that this will bring Frank forward into the public eye and give him an overall boost; comics, media, videogames, you name it.

If Ray Stevenson is unable to come back (I think he's in Thor now right?) who would you guys like to see take up the skullshirt?

Also sorry I should have explained I think this is what's going too happen, or be done by Marvel, (maybe) The deadpool cameo in wolverine seems to have worked , so much that he is getting his own spin of movie, also it's already being strongly hinted that Frank Castle is appearing in the upcoming Captain America movie (stated IBM) yes it may be bullzig, but it's all pointing towards this idea that Marvel have the next movie Or movie coming up stated at the end of the movies (iron man 1 and 2).

I think also why the costume change might happen is too be different from past Punisher movies.

 I really can see MARVEL going for someone who is already a box office star, cause what they spend on the star , they can still have a decent budget for an action movie , cause it won't have the effects like the Iron Man movies...

Just don't ask we which star, can't think of one at all, lol

 And yes, I should  have said this in my above post , is that I would like an HBO style TV series, bit like a MAX comic on TV,

Just think ! Punisher EVERY week ! Even if it lasted a couple of seasons , we would still
zig loads of Punisher! Be feckin great ! Lol

And no white boots or gloves for the TV series, Frank in his MAX attire would be fine.....

Basically what I'm looking for is a serious, gritty, mostly realistic Punisher film in the same light as Narc, Oldboy, Taxi Driver and those types of movies. Or in the same style of the Max comics, specifically Girls in White Dresses, Six Hours to Kill and Slavers, Man of Stone.  I think you get the gist...
