06/24/2009 - Punisher: No Mercy coming July 2nd

The PS3 exclusive downloadable game is a first person shooter from Zen studios. 1Up has this article:

PlayStation Network exclusive The Punisher: No Mercy has been given a date and price on the PlayStation.Blog. The game will be coming on July 2 for $9.99, just in time for a patriotic celebration of murdering everyone who crosses your path.

The game boasts a single-player story mode along with arena-style multiplayer featuring various famous characters from the Punisher universe. So far it looks surprisingly impressive for a downloadable title, and we’ll let you know our thoughts when we get a chance to have hands-on with the game.

Frankly I don’t know what to expect at this point. It’s got art from Mike Deodato to go with the story (awesome), and it’s got a system of perks to customize your character to suit your abilities (sounds good), but you have to remember the whole thing is an arena shooter… no marching through levels mowing down piles of bad guys. Might not matter if the levels are interesting enough and truly promote competitiveness.

At ten dollars, the risk seems worth it. We’ll give our review once the game hits.
