What can we say about this lady that hasn't been said before? Lots, apparently. We'd like to know why internet media sources don't seem to know or care that Hurd is currently married to the director of the 2004 Punisher film. Did LGF miss this one or what? That's a major conflict of interest.

Even if nothing sinister is going on in her mind, there is one truth still ringing clear: Gale Anne Hurd and her husband already had a shot at the Punisher, and it was a critical failure saved only by fans who bought the film on DVD to preserve their character's future (IMDB users give the film a 6.3/10, and Rotten Tomatoes' Tomatometer gives it a 28%. Yikes.)

Do they realize that she helped produce "Welcome to the Jungle," Hensleigh's latest and most terrible film to date? It's an embarassing cannibal porn movie that he had to release independently. So why, when this is the kind of movie she's involved in, does she still get the big jobs from the big studios? It's got to be because "Aliens" and "Terminator 2" are on her resume, but isn't 17 years without a critical success long enough for Hollywood to finally let her go?

Hiring Hurd to any movie is already like playing with fire, but letting her produce the next Punisher movie is a case of terrible conflict of interest and just plain unlikely success. Give Lexi Alexander the benefit of the doubt and let her vision be what we see on the big screen on December 5th.
