Who's involved?

For newcomers, the issue may be confusing... but we're here to set the record straight and let you know who we support, who is about to hurt the film, and who you can get in touch with to make this change.

LEXI ALEXANDER - Alexander is the director of Punisher War Zone. She's an oscar award nominee and has been very insistent publically about the need to faithfully bring Frank Castle to screen. We believe that everything from the lighting and environments to the incredible cast all invoke the feeling of the comics, and that's what we want.

Sadly, Lexi's input on the project has been reduced since filming finished, thanks to the influence of Gale Anne Hurd. We trust Lexi Alexander, and believe that her guidance and influence will be neccesary right up until the film is considered finalized. Our top priority is to convince Lionsgate Films to bring her back in to the fold so that the movie can be properly finished.

GALE ANNE HURD - Hurd is a producer that's been hanging around Hollywood far too long, long enough to believe her own hype. She was married to James Cameron and produced a bunch of his movies (Terminator 2 and Aliens among them) but once the relationship ended, so did Hurd's appearance of success. With little exception, her recent movie productions have been less than desirable. Noteworthy critical failures, such as Ang Lee's "Hulk" and 2004's lackluster version of the Punisher, were butchered on her watch. Now they're hard at work once again on War Zone, and we couldn't be more afraid for the movie's future.

The worst part? She's currently married to the architect of the 2004 Punisher film's destruction, Jonathan Hensleigh. She's producing his box office bombs now. Let's just say we're skeptical of her good intents towards the film.

In particular what's troubling is that a full fledged fiction about her is beginning to form... it's been claimed that she's trying to save the film from LGF tyrant Joe Drake (see below for his story) by cutting down the film's violence. We know this not to be true... it's been said by Lexi Alexander, Steve Gainer, and even Hurd herself that this is a hard R film. Alexander in particular commented of the initial trailer for the film that she didn't even realize there was enough PG-13 footage to make such a trailer (these comments have since been removed from her blog due to LGF's high regard for censorship.) Especially due to Hurd's recent "Incredible Hulk" decision to remove heavy amounts of story from the film, we believe she's attempting to do the same to War Zone.

MIKE PASEORNEK - Paseornek is the President of Lionsgate Films' Motion Picture Production. You can email him at mpaseornek@lionsgate.com, so if nothing else they'll be aware of all the demand there is for a proper Punisher film... let them know this film has to be honest to its artistic roots. It's time for the Punisher to succeed in theaters.

JOE DRAKE - Drake is the Chief Operating Officer. You can email him at JDrake@lionsgate.com. He's the guy responsible for dumping the film version of Clive Barker's "Midnight Meat Train" in to just a hundred dollar theaters, despite his supposed commitment to niche films. Punisher War Zone very well may fit in to that category, so we can't let him forget just how much the Punisher deserves a full theatrical release with all the violent trimmings it entrails... um, entails.

KEVIN FEIGE - Feige is the President of Production at Marvel Studios, and an executive producer on Punisher War Zone. We encourage you to email him to let him know that Hurd is going to damage the film, and that Lionsgate needs to rearrange their priorities for War Zone. As the owners of the Punisher and Lionsgate's business partner, Marvel has a stake in protecting the franchise and pleasing the fans.
